Saying sorry?!

How do you (if you do) admit you were wrong and say sorry? Why is it so hard.

It is super hard, but it’s also very important. I like to say exactly what I’m sorry for, and my husband does the same. It makes the apology feel more genuine, and the person in the wrong is acknowledging it and saying they will try better next time.

I ask for forgiveness. I explain myself fully and ask for forgiveness for whatever it is that happened that I was wrong about. So like.. "would you please forgive me for raising my voice at you? I was upset and I should have went to calm down first. I didn't mean to hurt you can you please forgive me?" (Yelling is a big trigger for my partner) for example. Just be sincere. Sometimes when I don't feel I can speak I write it out in a letter and sit with my partner while he reads it and after we talk about it.

Pride makes it hard. Be real with yourself. Even if you’re not the “guilty” one, its all about being mature. Life is too short. We can die literally the next second, so thinking of life is bigger than “this” helps me forgive just as fast as i was mad. But everyone doesn’t understand that & may think you’re bipolar.

You gotta swallow your pride and own up to your mistake. Take responsibility for your actions/words and be honest. I’d usually say something like, “Hey, I was out of line when I said/did X, and I’m sorry.” I might explain what my thought process was if it’s relevant, but not as an excuse. 
You both have to put your relationship above your pride.

It’s easy for me to tell men I’m sorry. But that’s only due to childhood abuse from dad. Nothing was ever good enough for dad. Screw dad. I can’t help sorry 😬😔
