Why do baby’s get Thrush?

Why and how do baby’s get thrush? How can you avoid it? My baby is formula fed

It’s a build up of yeast in their mouths. Wipe their gums with a damp wash cloth after feeding

Thrush is due to the fungus Candida albicans. This fungus is found in the mouth of most people, and usually does not cause any ailments. Infants may have fungal infections in the mouth without any particular cause. Infants may be infected during birth if the mum has had a yeast infection during pregnancy. Children who are breastfeeding can transfer the fungal infection to the mother's nipple. This may cause the breastfeeding to become very painful.
Who is most prone to thrush;
It is not uncommon for infants to get thrush. People treated with medicines for asthma (such as inhalation steroids) may get thrush if you are not rinsing their mouth after inhalation. You may also get thrush when using antibiotics or if you have a reduced immune system.
Symptoms of thrush;
Areas with white coatings or white spots on the tongue, gums and the inside of the child's cheek. It can almost look like milk starters, but it's stuck.
In the mother, fungal infection on the nipples can cause a stinging or burning pain in the breast, during and especially after breastfeeding. The skin may be slightly more red than normal and shiny, flaky, with possibly small fractured rashes.
Good advice to prevent thrush; 
Keep the baby's pacifier clean and regular replacement, as well as nipples for bottles etc. boiling for at least 10minutes will kill the fungus.
Avoid others sucking on the child's pacifier.
