What would you do as a parent? My child is in the first grade. My child has a field trip. I was going to turn in my money and go on the field trip with my child. The field trip permission form is not even due yet, therefor all parents haven’t turned in their form yet. The teacher has already picked 5 random chaperones/parents to go that already turned In forms. She also said the parents that did not get picked this time would have dibs for next field trip.

No extra parents can go and ride on the bus with class. Teacher also says it’s against policy for me to drive to the public place where the field trip is located. I actually called the school board and they said it was the principal and teacher who comes up with how many parents are allowed to go. My child is upset because she really wanted me to go on the field trip with her.

Would you Push the issue? Would you call the school office? I feel like they are taking my child to a public place, they will mark her absent if she doesn’t go on the field trip. But they won’t let her parent go with her? I don’t want to cause problems for my child? I know I can’t be the only parent upset because I can’t go with my child?
