I'm 19, my ex boyfriend? and I had been together for 2 years until last month. He broke up with me with the reasoning that he loves me and just needs time to figure out who he is and get his shit together for school and whatnot. This breakup was unexpected from everyone. His family and friends (who I'm very close to) didn't even know until 2 weeks after it happened. I understand and respect the fact that he need time to figure out who he is because at our age and sophomores in college, we're still figuring it out. He told me to consider it a breakup and that he didn't whether he would hook up with other people or not. Yet he keeps texting me. Nothing bad but as a friend and you can't talk to someone as a friend after being romantically involved with them for 2 years. I can't get over him if he keeps texting me, but what if this is him figuring out what he wants.
