How many scans did your OBGYN give you?

I got two transvaginal and two ultrasounds in just my first trimester. Is this normal? I read that only 1 to 2 scans is necessary. One in the first trimester to know when the due date is and then one more time to know what the sex is. I am under the suspicion that too many scans can hurt the baby because I had a missed miscarriage.🤷‍♀️

Depends on their personal practice. My doctor gives an ultrasound at every appointment regardless of if you’re high risk or not, she also sets the first appointment for prior to 8 weeks if you find out that early.

I had one at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 weeks and every week after the 20 week one. I had more in the beginning because I had a previous miscarriage and I had them every week because I had to have an emergency cerclage so they were monitoring my cervix. But that’s not typical lol

I had heaps. They are considered very safe. I had two dating scans. A nuchal scan with 3D, a morphology scan with 3D, 2 full growth scans, and at every appointment they had a quick look and checked heartbeat/placenta/cord/amniotic fluid. 
I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriage. Sometimes we look to find reasons why it happened, but more often than not, we never get to find out why a miscarriage occurs.

Scans are 100% safe. There is absolutely no evidence indicating they harm you or the fetus.
I had a dating scan at 8 weeks, a confurmation scan at 12 weeks (bc I had two miscarriages previously,) then another at 12 weeks for the NT scan, an anatomy scan between 18-20 weeks, and I was recommended another at 28 weeks to check on growth.

I’ve had three the entire pregnancy for all my babies. Usually they only do two or three unless they we problems or you are high risk. One to confirm the pregnancy, anatomy scan and sometimes a growth scan.

7500 lol no not that many but I have had at least 30 or more and I am 25 weeks. That being said this is not the norm and is my 3rd pregnancy and have never had this many until now due to a short cervix and real contractions on and off.

I had 5 for my whole pregnancy, they explained to me that the position my baby was laying in prevented them from getting the view they needed of all of his heart valves. There was absolutely  nothing wrong, baby just didn’t want to turn the other way for us.

I had 2 in the first trimester, one for dating ultrasound, and the other one at the end, to make sure everything is good, then one at around 18 to 20 weeks, and I had my last one just 4 weeks before due date to see how much babe weighted.
