Wild story

So this story goes all the way back to sophomore year. I am now a freshman in college. My sophomore year of high school I began dating this guy who was three years older than me. We dated for two years solidly and then one year on and off (that year being my senior year). In that time he had constantly told me he wanted to marry me, this is something I never bought into because it felt like an empty promise.

Very recently as in last Thursday it turns out I was right. I logged onto Facebook only to find out he had gotten married. Keep in mind he had called me less than two weeks before to ask if I was willing to marry him in two years. At that point in my life I had decided that yea I was. I know saying yes to that at 18 is probably foolish but this is someone I loved and I thought loved me back. Turns out he’s been with this girl since May but would talk to me on the side or maybe she was on the side I don’t know to be completely honest. It’s just very weird to have had someone constantly call you, text you and tell you that you’re their one only to find out that it was all a lie.

This whole experience has been kind of eye opening and has forced me to reevaluate our entire relationship. What hurt me more was the fact that he didn’t even invite his own family to the wedding. I understand that he’s in the army now and what he’s experienced while in it must have changed him in some way but to see someone you thought you knew so well turn out to be a complete stranger is heartbreaking. If anyone has advice on how to get over this or what I should do that would be nice.
