Ezra for girl?

My hubby and I are trying for a baby currently and we want to make our first baby Ezra. We were told it’s a boy name and should pick a different name if we have a girl. What do you guys think?

Not only does Ezra have a really long history as a boys name, it’s a WILDLY POPULAR boys name, climbing in popularity every year. 
The only thing worse to me than hearing “oh, I thought you were going to be a boy/man” one’s whole life would be being one of three Ezra’s in the class, differentiated as “The girl one” 😬
Love the name, don’t love it for a girl especially considering how many baby boys will get that name in the next few years.

I think it’s more of a gender neutral name these days. It’s no different than using Blake, Mason, or Rowan. I like Ezra for a girl 🤷🏼‍♀️

We’re naming our daughter Rowyn and when people ask isn’t that a boys name I can honestly say it could have been but I’ve met more girls with the name of Rowen then I’ve met boys. I currently have only met one little boy with the name Rowen so I think Ezra for a girl would be adorable

I think a nice similar but way more feminine alternative could be Xyla. To me Ezra is a little too masculine.

My coworker has a daughter named Ezra. I haven’t heard it as a boys name yet! I think it could go for either. But her little Ez is so cute!!! It really fits her.
