Not period related but I don’t care because I need to rant about how expensive pointe shoes are. Just the shoe alone can be anywhere between $70 to $130, the ones I wear are $90, then the ribbons and elastic which is another $10 dollars, then the toe pads which are $30, then toe tape which is $5 and toe spacers which are another $10. That’s $145 dollars for a pair of shoes that’s going to last me maybe 3 months at the most, and that’s only because I only dance on pointe 30 minutes a week. I have strong feet and my shoes don’t last long even though I bought the extra strong shank/box. Why hasn’t someone come up with a different design that lasts longer and isn’t so expensive.
