How can I approach the subject of birth control with my mom?

Hey guys,
So I’m 16 and I’m trying to start taking birth control soon. How can I ask my mom about birth control? She’s always saying that I shouldn’t be having sex, if I’m not ready to have a baby. With birth control AND condoms, that shouldn’t be a problem. Right?
I need all the advice I can get.

Just be honest, I did and she said that she was happy that I came to her and trusted her instead of going out and getting myself pregnant at a young age

I started BC when I was 16, I have an implant now at 21 and it's all thanks to my mom for starting me on it. Since it was up to me, I'd show my mom that I track my period. And it's never quite accurate. I also had terrible cramps and stomach pain. She took me to the doctor and I was able to start the pill. Since I needed it for cramps I didnt have to have the sex talk for another year or so. If your parents are easy going I'd definitely tell her why you want it and establish trust. It's easier when you're open and realize your parents are just there to take care of you(:

When I got on BC I was also 16 and my mom didn’t want me having sex at all. I told her I wanted it for bad cramps. Before hand I started making comments abt how bad my period was feeling when I had it (lied). I told my mom I wanted to go to the doctor abt it and she took me. Ur 16 and if u live in Canada u have the right to go yourself to the doctor to get BC. At the end of the day it’s ur own body and u gotta take care of yourself. U can either do what I did or just be honest with her. Either way the choice of going on BC is yours not hers.
