Weird question but Is it Normal for your gums to itch when you eat hot sauce?

but every time I eat it or any spicy foods my mouth or gums itch.

I literally hate it when it happens but it’s soooo good .

Super spicy food makes my gums hurt/itch. Usually something like nuoc cham, or some hot chili sauces. I might be allergic to peppers though.
