me and my girlfriend experienced homophobia for the first time ever today.

we were walking down the street holding hands. i leaned in for a kiss and we saw and heard a man groan in disgust “eughh”. we laughed it off and she continued to walk me home. my dad was walking out of the house while i leaned in to kiss her. i passed it off as a handshake and my dad didn’t think anything about it. i am not out to my family yet. i didn’t think anything about the mans groan until now. a couple hours later. it was very strange and i don’t know how i feel about it. i am also young . i am thirteen. i feel like that was a big factor as to why he made that noise of disgust.
