Ovulation tests

So I had a pale test, then a couple hours later it was a little darker, then an hour later it was really light again, this was yesterday between 6:40 and 10:40 in the evening. Is it possible I could have ovulated between 9:40 and 10:40 and missed it? I see a lot of people get dark tests for days at a time, does this always happen? I have about a 28-32 day cycle, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, but that's average. This is my first month testing for ovulation with tests, I normally don't test with anything
