When to change the diaper....

Question

Your baby is sound asleep and you hear them pooping quite a bit. Do you wake the baby to change it? Or wait until baby wakes up to change it?

Babies usually fall right back to sleep after you've changed them. Better to have a fussy baby than diaper rash!!

If it’s just a wet diaper I say let them sleep, but a poop needs to be changed.

I’d rather deal with a cranky baby because they’re tired than a cranky baby because they have a rash.

Of course, I change a poopy diaper. I can't believe so many people said they'd wait. That's how rashes occur.

He’s never done a poop in his sleep but if he did I would change him straight away

I wait until they wake up. I’d rather them sleep than risk them not going back to sleep. I’m talking ebf babies though. Once solids are introduced, I change immediately

I always change poop immediately. Neither of my alien-like, no sleeping kids will go back to sleep after a diaper change but the peace you catch when baby sleeps is not worth risking a diaper rash that could cause them pain.

My baby wakes up and tells me with a loud cry I didn’t know babies could sleep with poop! But I’d deffo change them

My baby was in the NICU and they changed her every 2 hours unless she pooped. When you’re on lasics you always have a pee diaper
