Clomid & thin uterine lining?!

Question

So my doctor prescribed me Clomid to take my next cycle. She also told me that my uterine lining seemed a little thin. It’s at 5mm (cycle day 1) rather then 8mm. 
I did some reading and it says that Clomid can actually thin your lining of the uterus. Why would she prescribe me this?  
Would you guys still take it or seek another opinion?

I’m on my fifth round of clomid and my uterine lining has been fine! I have heard of this side affect tho.

Ask your doc about trying Letrozole next cycle. Can’t hurt to suggest it.

I had that side affect and my RE switched me to Letrozole.  Uterine lining thickened up.  Clomid is supposed to produce more follicles and is usually the first drug they try,  Letrozole produces follicles as well, but I understand it sometimes produces fewer.  It is actually not marketed as a fertility drug, but has an aromatase inhibitor that blocks the estrogen receptors and signals your pituitary to stimulate your ovaries. I believe I read it’s not marketed as a fertility drug bc it can be harmful during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.  BUT, since you would be taking it prior to pregnancy, it wouldn’t harm a future pregnancy later in your cycle.  I take it days 5-9.

I’ve heard that was a side effect of clomid.. my doctor prescribed me with letrozole instead. It works the same as clomid but hasn’t had that side effect. Doesn’t mean it does that for everyone though, you might not have that issue. I know your lining is thinner on your period also so depending on when this was in your cycle that could’ve been the issue too.

I would take it this round and see how your lining is later in your cycle closer to ovulation. I know your lining is thinner during your period, however I’m not sure how thin is normal during the first few days of your cycle
