Minimum 3 day wait for tubes tied

Today was my last appointment before being induced on Friday. My husband and I decided awhile ago that if for some reason I needed a c-section then I’ll get my tubes tied while they are in there (this is our second and last baby).

I figured this is one of those things that you should tell your doctor before hand. I had no idea that there is a waiting period to get your tubes tied (I live in California). The standard wait period is 30 days, but that can be waved down to 3 days.

I wanted to pass on this information. It never crossed my mind that there would be a mandatory wait period. Not sure if it’s the same where you live, but if this is something you want to do, I would talk to your doctor sooner than later.
