123/79 high blood pressure?

Im 13w and My dr today said I was at risk with a 123/79 blood pressure reading. I feel like that's pretty normal but I have to go to a high risk doctor because of hypertension.  I thought that was a normal BP reading? I'm nervous about this now 😫

120/80 is a normal blood pressure. Do you know what your normal reading is? If you consistently sit at a certain number and suddenly go up, that could be cause for concern. I’ve had hypertension with all my babies and they were okay if I stayed consistent with my readings but usually jumped to bring it down if it changed too much.

Oh wow that’s totally within normal range 🧐 I had gestational hypertension at the end of my last pregnancy and they didn’t do anything about it until it had stayed very high for 3 weeks (like 150/98 and a little above). Then induced a week early. I had no protein in my urine so they weren’t terribly concerned.

That was my blood pressure a few weeks ago and Dr said blood pressure was good. So not sure of the concern. You are fine. 🙂

Blood pressure tends to drop a bit in your first trimester so although that is normal normally. That reading may indicate to the doctor that  you may be at risk.  My normal is 121/80  but during this pregnancy it’s 108/74.  Normally this would be a low no for me but not during pregnancy.  He will just keep an eye on it and any protein in your urine.

I had to take a whole class over this for my radiology degree and that's a very good BP. I'm not sure why you're doctor is saying that. I would get a second opinion from someone in the office or call and ask your primary doctor

Thats really strange. I was 128/82 at my last appt and the nurse even said “that’s perfect”. Prior to pregnancy I was always 110-120/70-80 and never had any negative response from my doc.

That’s pretty weird... thats definitely a normal reading? Maybe something in your medical history that indicates risk?
