Bleeding After Postpartum Sex

I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else. This is my first baby so going through this for the first time. My husband and I first had sex after I was cleared by my OB 6 weeks PP. After that, I started spotting then it turned into what seemed like my period, for a week straight. (Even though I’m BF) I called my OB and she thought it was my period so I started the mini pill the next day.

Now 8 weeks PP, we had sex again and the same thing happened. I started to spot 5-6 hours later and 48 hours later it has gotten progressively brighter and a little heavier. I should add the sex isn’t painful (only at entry) and we are definitely taking it easy. Has this happened to anyone else? My OB seems to think it’s related to starting the mini pill but I can’t help but think it’s from sex.

I’m just wondering if this is normal. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!
