I just need to vent...

So me and my SO were planning on moving to a new apartment because we were having trouble with the one we were in. One of our friends was having financial issues and issues with the person she was living with at the time. She asked if she could be our roommate and stated that she would only be able to give us $200 a month. So instead of a cheaper 1 bedroom, we got a 2 bedroom (that didn’t allow my dog, so he has to stay with my family) that was our of our budget (by about $100). Fast forward to the end of the lease and she tells us (after she talked to the landlord, and after we told the landlord that we would be staying) that she’s moving out. Now during the lease term we had to deal with guys in and out and guys staying here because she told them that they could without asking us, etc. She wasted the whole month that she knew she’d be leaving and didn’t get any packing done. We told her that she could stay a little past the 1st to get her packing done and move out, but that we already found a new roommate and that he wants to move in by the middle of the month at the latest. Every time we tell her that we will help her move out, she avoids us. She continues to let this guy stay here even though we said he needs to be out, she even gave him a key! The entire time that guy has been here stuff has gone missing. Mostly little things, movies, plates, bowls, silverware, cash, and other odds and ends. We’ve wanted him gone for over a month and she knew this, but she continues to make excuses for him to stay saying “oh well, he’s helping me move.” Then I tried to remind her of stuff that’s hers that was in the community spaces by saying “you’re taking the microwave, right?” And she got extremely bitchy with me and said “well it IS mine.” 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m so sick of dealing with this crap on top of the new financial stress and the stress of being pregnant and the stress of the holidays coming up. Plus now we have to start looking for a 3 bedroom apartment for after the baby is born. I’m just sick of how we get shit on when all we do is try to help other people out. Kind of just wishing that we would have stayed where we were at...
