Would you pay for a professional pet caretaker (sitter)? (READ FIRST)

Question

Okay so my question is, if you went to go on vacation or just wanted your dog to have a human around throughout the day would you pay someone to do it? I know this is a common job but I live in a small town of about 2,000 people. I'm interested in starting my own business but I want to offer boarding, daycare, bathing/basic grooming, walking, basic training for dogs and puppies and maybe some other stuff depending on ideas that may come up. Would you be interested? Would you do it? I'm feeling very discouraged but I feel very passionate about this and i want to pursue my dreams. Any tips/advice is also very appreciated and welcome!! Thank you!

Honestly I would use family because they are all close. But I know other people who dont have family close by or have too many dogs for their family to take care of who board their dogs. Just chack any laws reguarding other peoples pets

Keeping your price range reasonable is the only advice I'd tell you , I would have gotten my puppy trained but they wanted like $300 for 3 sessions so I did it myself for $10 in treats

I would for sure pay for this. We have 3 dogs and finding someone to watch them for reasonable prices while we go on vacation is SO difficult for us. I wish we had something like this where we live, we only have actual boarding facilities for dogs but they are super costly.

Well I would usually say of course! But I let someone do it 2 months ago and her boyfriend came back to my house and stole my crap. Sucker never even saw the security cameras :)

I used to do this :) People loved it, and most people wanted you to stay in thier house which at the time I had a crappy apartment and got to live in some gorgeous houses so it was amazing.

I just wanted to add the prices I have in mind so you get a general idea.
Overnight $35
Days (while at work) $25
Walking $7
Bathing/basic grooming $20-$30 (depends on what you want)
Basic training will come with boarding/daycare if wanted/needed for an additional $20 basic training would consist of (potty training (while also encouraging owners what to do at home to continue work), sit, stay, lie down, and no jumping).
 I also wanted to offer free text updates of the animals while in my care.

I pay my friend to do it for me if im gonna be gone, and now that she lives down the road she always pops in no charge and takes care of my dogs for me. But my dogs have specific medications, feeding regiments ect. So i have to have someone i trust to do it. But i know lots of people that would use a boarding place, i also lived next to one (which was awful i don’t recommend) and they were always very busy.

I absolutely have a sitter we trust 100% we have this incredible women we met when my dog went missing, she started her own volunteer group that helps look for lost pets. and she also does a pet sitting business. if it wasn't for her time we would have never gotten my dog back. people take a lot of care and choice looking for a sitter, so start with friends who can back you up.
