If my mom hemorrhages while giving birth what’s the chance I will?

I have no known health problems but I’m terrified of giving birth because I’m scared of hemorrhaging. My mom almost died giving birth to my brother due to a horrible hemorrhage. I do have Anemia and a lot of my family has a blood disorder where the blood doesn’t clot but my mom was tested and isn’t a carrier and doesn’t have it meaning it’s impossible for me to have it. How can I help my fear of giving birth?

If you’re anemic you should talk to your doctor about an iron supplement. Without a bleeding disorder though, her hemorrhaging wouldn’t effect your chances.

Not sure if it’s a hereditary thing or not but I hemorrhage every time I give birth. However the only time I’ve almost died from it was after my first with my last two kids I’ve made it very clear to any and all providers/nurses that I hemorrhage and also I beat it into my husbands head so if for some reason I am unable to he can make sure they are watching for it. So if you are worried I would just make your concerns known usually it is something they can catch immediately if they are watching for it.

I hemorrhage with my 3rd 
When I was pregnant with my 4th I made my OB aware and I never hemorrhage with him
I am now pregnant with my 5th and will be doing the same making my high risk OB aware of past hemorrhage

Idt it would matter how your mothers birth was only what your previous birth experiences were. I hemorrhaged with my first so this time I have 75 percent chance of doing it again. I think you will be fine.
