No period on birth control

Hi ! I’m very confused, I’m 19 and my first time being sexually active was about a week ago after my 2 time and ever since I worn protection but still I went to plan parenthood for birth control and they took pregnancy test before giving me the shot which came out negative it’s been 8 days that my period is late would I it be the depo shot that I will no longer have my period while being on birth control ? Cause I read many stories and some didn’t get it at all after and others did get it a lot also could it have affected the fact that I took the morning after pill for my first time in panic because I was afraid the condom ripped so I didn’t want to take chances and I took one and then 5 days later I went on birth control. Would all that hormonal change be the cause?
