Hey guys!

My name is amber and I’m 24 years old, married and mother of two. My first two babies were convinced on the birthcontrol pill so after i had my second I decided to get the Mirena so I wouldn’t have another unexpected pregnancy. I had the mirena for three years with no problems, a few weeks ago I was experiencing really bad cramps for over 36 hours so I went to my OBGYN to get things checked out.

They did an internal ultrasound and found that the mirena had moved and one of the “arms” was poking my cervix causing the pain so they had to remove it.

Oddly enough I had already had an apt set for 3 weeks after that to get it removed anyway to start TTC, weird how that worked out! Lol

So they took mirena out on 10/15, I did bleed a little the 25th-28th, spotty the first two days, medium flow the third and spotting again the last (4th) day.

I was kinda hoping that since it had moved, there would already be a chance of pregnancy from it not being properly in-place but I have taken three tests all negative since getting it out (took one this morning as well 11/2 also negative) so I don’t think it being out of place caused me to get pregnant....darn it!

How long did it take everyone to get pregnant after mirena was removed?

Also, I heard there have been quite a few cases where women have gotten pregnant with twins shortly after getting mirena removed because of hyper-ovulation, has anyone found that to be true?
