Anyone switch from the depo to the iud?

I've been on the depo for 6 years and honestly, haven't really had any side effects aside from some weight gain and some emotional ups and downs and occasional breakouts. I like the depo because its very effective but some of the long term side effects worry me like osteoporosis and the fact that it can take so long to get out of your body after you stop using it.

I'm considering switching to the IUD and would prefer to go non-hormonal but my doctor recommended the Kyleena for me, but also said that I would be a fine candidate for the paraguard. Anyone who liked the depo switch to either one of these IUD's?

I have never been pregnant before and have not had a period or spotting the entire time on depo.

I'm a little worried about the paraguard because I haven't had a period in so long and I honestly don't even know what a "normal" period would be like for me.
