Anxiety and Birth Control...?

Question

I have severe anxiety and have decided that it’s time for me to think about birth control with recent issues arising. But I’m scared a normal birth control will make my anxiety worse and possibly make me suicidal. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips or something to help me out?

I don't really have a recommendation since my experiences have been mixed.  Both times I've been on the pill. The first one, I actually adjusted really well to and it seemed to help the depression I was going through at the time.   15 years later, I started a new birth control and it nearly sent me into a state of paranoia and I thought I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.  Currently, I'm not taking anything to let the first one work out of my system and I'll be trying out a new one.   
All I can say is try to keep an open mind and don't be afraid to tell your doctor if what you're taking isn't working.  Sometimes it takes a few tries to find out what's going to work for you.
