Is peppermint tea safe to drink?

I was just wondering if peppermint tea was safe to drink during pregnancy? I’m still in my first trimester.. I have heard some herbs are unsafe but not sure about this one?

Herbs are not unsafe, they are simply unstudied. Herbs are not patented (meaning no corporation makes money off of specific herbs), so no one has funded any studies to see the effect they have on pregnant women. So, some people decide to steer clear of them altogether in order to avoid even the potential of any risk.
The reality is, you would likely need to drink a LOT of a specific tea over an extended period of time for it to have any effect on you, good or bad. Personally I’ve had all kinds of herbal tea throughout pregnancy and I’m 39+2 with a healthy baby. Peppermint is the tea I drink the most, in fact.

I was told to stay away from peppermint oil in the third trimester, but I don’t know if that goes for all peppermint things. Apparently it’s fine in the first and second trimester though.

I've heard that peppermint is fine, but Spearmint is not. My Aunty told me, not sure where she got her info but I'm not taking that chance. I drink peppermint tea for bloating, it helps a little bit.

I drank peppermint tea while pregnant with my second daughter during the first trimester, I drank it because I heard it’s supposed to help with bloating although I didn’t drink it for long because I thought it was horrible. I haven’t heard that you can’t drink it during pregnancy.
