When your boyfriend develops a habit of leaving you on read and never responding again?

I'm 20 years old and I'm trying to handle this like an adult but it's starting to bother me. I'm leaning towards not even bothering texting him again until he's ready to actually talk or leaving him on read and ignoring him like he does me. This bothers me because I don't even know the last time we've had a legit conversation.
