Are we wrong for wanting to go to our first ultrasound alone?

My mom’s so upset that I said I just wanted it to be my baby’s father and I @ our first ultrasound. Am I wrong for wanting to experience that moment with just him?! I hate making my mom upset😭

There is no need for anyone other than my fiancé to be in that room during my first ultrasound. The same goes for my delivery and I give no shits who it pisses off. This is my baby and my decision. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I told my mom no. I actually am not planning to invite anyone but my husband to any of my drs appointments. I might change my mind but I want to soak up this time with my husband

My mom was furious that I didn’t take her to our ultrasound to find out the gender of my last baby but she won’t be going when we see this baby either

Invite her to the 20 week scan, it’s definitely a beautiful experience that you will want to share. The first few are very private and you want to be alone.

I took my mom to a regular appointment for her birthday so she could hear my daughters heartbeat and that was enough for her 😊 I always gave her a picture from my ultrasounds so I'm sure that helped too

It depends on your relationship and the want you have for your experience. My husband and I want my mom to be there for this new pregnancy as she has been supportive through my first 2 pregnancies and losses. I know she will be here for me through the good and bad. So I just make the best decision for both of you and your mom will be ok.

Just tell her you’re only allowed one other person in the room because it’s too small. 
That’s the “rule” at my hospital.

I love my mom to pieces but even if she asked I’d say no. I feel that those special moments should just be for me and my other half ❤️

I'm only taking my Aunty to my next one as my husband is away for work and I don't want to go alone. Once he's home, he'll be the only one coming with me. It's completely your choice who is there for the Dr's appointments with you, there will be other opportunities for your mum to share in the happiness ☺️
