Can I eat COOKED sushi?

I just ordered a sushi roll that has tempura shrimp (so it’s deep fried) and then it’s topped with crab and spicy mayo. Will this be okay to eat?

I even ate raw sushi when I was pregnant with my first! Only from restaurants though and not high mercury ones but my third trimester it was all I wanted 🤷‍♀️ My OB said "what do you think pregnant women in Japan eat?" Lol.

I vote no just because of the risk of cross contamination. They are likely using the same knife, cutting board, etc. that they just used to prepare and cut sushi with raw fish.

You’re fine. I just wouldn’t buy the stuff that’s packaged at the store regardless of whether it’s cooked because you don’t know when it was prepared and it’s sitting out for a while.

Yes, you can! I thought I couldn’t and that was going to be the end of my world 😂 but I asked my dr and they recommend that you get a certain amount of low mercury level fish anyway. Just make sure it is fully cooked, but seeing as it’s tempura and it’s fried there should be no issue. Go for it, now I want some! Lol

I ate sushi like once a week when I was pregnant with my daughter and nothing happened. As long as everything is fully cooked, it’s fine.
