Tylenol before shots ??

Okay so at 2 months my girl had shots and ended up with high fever and we ended up in emergency room. She now 4 months and getting shots again soon. Can we give her some Tylenol before ?? To help with fever ?

No Tylenol. Acetaminophen depletes the body of glutathione which is needed to detox the body of the extra potentially harmful ingredients in vaccines. An extreme high fever is not a  normal reaction..it's common but not normal. I would use a different fever reducer if needed. The fever means the body is at work fighting something from the vaccines.

Ask your pediatrician. I wouldn’t give Tylenol as a preventative medicine, but would give it right away if she develops a fever.

My pediatrician prescribed Tylenol for infants. My best friend and 3times mom told me to give it to the baby as soon as I leave the hospital and I did. Her reasoning was that it’s was better to prevent a fever than to deal with it afterwards ( and end up in the ER)...I don’t think any doctor will agree but I followed her advice and have no regrets. That’s the time my baby has had any medication (I’m agains then usually and even had an unmedicated labor),

My ped does not recommend the preventive Tylenol since it weakens the body’s response to the shot .. but every doc is different !

I live in the UK and the docs recommend we give Calpol - an infant analgesic prior to inoculation and up to three doses following, as the meningitis B vaccine can cause fever. 
I was given a leaflet explaining the signs and symptoms and how to give the paracetamol. I’m not too sure how different it is in the US, but I’m sure a little bit of something to help with the fever is a lot better than your child getting a fever and having a seizure because of it xx

My doctor said no Tylenol before because they cannot get an accurate temperature on the baby. If he or she does have a fever the Tylenol will reduce it and most doctors won't give shots to an infant that already has a fever. But she does allow if after if baby is uncomfortable. I usually give a dose before bed.

I’ve also heard not to give it if you can avoid it (both before and after) because it can reduce the effectiveness of the vaccines. I know that people do give it before though. If it gives you peace of mind to give it before then I would.

I give Tylenol to both my children right after a shot. Like literally in the doctors office before we leave. There is ZERO reason for them to be in pain and my pediatrician 100% supports that decision. It also makes for a MUCH easier day and night.

I have Tylenol to my first born and he is now 7 and perfectly fine go with your gut or ask your pediatrician
