Pumping if baby sleeps all night?

Question

So, my baby sleeps through the night some nights but not always. Do I need to pump on the nights she sleeps all night? I was initially, but I haven't lately and I wake up feeling full, but it's not painful. I just don't want my supply to drop at night for the nights that she does still need me. Thanks!

You know what I have ended up doing that works like magic is that I pump one side and feed my son on the other in the morning as I wake up with way more than he needs and I built a stash and still have great (double) production if he wakes up in the night. It’s a win win win win situation. Mama gets more sleep, have enough milk if he wakes up, building a freezer stash and never get engorged. 👍🏼❤️

Glad to help. So I angle the baby’s bottom half slightly away from me and get the bottle/pump between us. It may look awkward but he is really secure. I don’t need to hold my left breast, I can caress his head or hold his hand/back... I kind of recall having my hubby help me get settled at first, but it got easier quickly. We’ve been doing this for like 4-5 months almost every morning and I have over 400 oz of frozen milk. (Going back to work next week and miserable about it) Like I said I have trouble letting down for the pump- so this helps a lot and the over production helps so much with weird nights. I will say though, that I’m small-med breasted... I don’t expect this working for larger breasted mamas.

It won’t affect your supply if you sleep all night... you need rest, too! My daughter feeds every 2-3 hours 7am - 8pm and sleeps through the night. After time, my body has adjusted and my milk supply has never gone down. I wake up with full breasts, but not in any pain.

I never have. If my daughter sleeps, I sleep. It’s never affected my supply. 
I don’t think a lot of women would breastfeed for as long as they do if they had to give up ever being able to sleep through the night while they were doing it. As long as your supply is well established occasionally missing a feeding won’t affect your supply. 
If baby starts consistently sleeping through the night, your body will adapt to their new eating habits. Pumping at a time when your baby doesn’t need milk would be a viscous cycle and you’d never sleep through the night again but your baby would

It won’t effect your supply. I always do it for relief because if she sleeps for longer than usual, they will be more full than what she eats, so she won’t even eat half of what I have in there lol so I just pump the rest out and store it.

Yes I would. Your supply will definitely drop if not, because your body makes what it thinks baby needs.
