When did you/do you plan to tell your boss that you are expecting?

We’ve found our we’re expecting our first a couple of days ago. I’ve not had any symptoms so far other than some mild cramping. But I’m trying to drink more water and that’s meant that I need to go to the toilet more often and I need to leave the classroom (I’m a teacher). I’m sure he’ll notice and be annoyed that I’m leaving the classroom as he doesn’t know why. Is it too early to tell him? When did you ladies tell your boss? 
Ps. we’ve already told our parents as hubby didn’t want to keep it from them.

I'm 18+4 And still havnt said anything lol not sure when I plan to either. There are only very few females here and the rest are all males and I don't wanna be treated any different.

I was so nervous about telling my boss that i told at 5 weeks just to make myself feel better. The anxiety of holding the secret in was killing me. It is such a relief not to constantly have to worry about when Im going to tell my boss. Just like with my 1st, I hope she keeps the news to herself

I’m around chemicals at work in surgery that are known to cause miscarriage. I told my boss the moment my line turned pink so I wouldn’t be assigned to those surgeries and to be around less radiation from x Ray. The con of this now is I’m 8w4d and literally everyone in the OR knows I’m having a baby, so the joy of telling people when I wanted to was taken away... oh well. At least little bean is safe.

I’m a nurse and got really sick starting in the 7th week so I needed to tell my boss. She’s also very understanding and I’ve been there for a few years and had recently gotten married so I don’t think it was a big surprise. I also knew that if I miscarried I would need time off to grieve/recover and that she would find out anyways. I told everyone at work shortly after because I needed them to understand if I needed to sit for a few minutes while getting a bout of morning sickness, and again, they would all be understanding if anything happened. 
I think it all depends on your circumstances.

I planned on telling after the first trimester, but my awful nausea plus some changes to my team at work required me to speak up sooner at 7 weeks. Thankfully my boss is super understanding and accommodating.

I had to tell mine pretty early in my pregnancy because I am an emergency room nurse so there is a lot of patient that I cannot take care of.

It depends if you feel comfortable. I told my boss the week I found out. She was thrilled for me and I thought shed best know incase I needed appointments or I wasn’t myself in work. Glad I did! Also I thought if anything did happen I’d  need the support and understanding from work x

Depends on your job. If you work with chemicals or lift heavy things i’d say ASAP.

I'm a CNA and do really physical labor so I had to tell them around 9weeks so I could stop lifting patients and stick to the more ambulatory ones!
