First time mom :)

My little girl is due mid March and I’m excited, overwhelmed, scared, everything you could think of.

Husband & I live with his mom & planning on moving before baby is 1.

I’ve had multiple offers from my MIL that she can help and take time off from her job when the baby is born.. I appreciate it greatly! But, as much as I am scared/nervous about taking care of my baby girl, I’m her mother & I want to figure things out on my own & do things that work for me.

Is this ungrateful of me to not want her help, immediately? Honestly, I’m not planning on asking her for her help until I get a routine down with baby or ever. I just don’t want her to be breathing down our necks when we change a baby’s diaper or when I’m feeling her or how we’re deciding to do things.

When she let me know that she’s going to take time off I just said “okay, but I’d like it to be me and my husband caring for the baby first.” Is this just me? Or are any of you planning on getting help from family members?
