Is this normal?

Ok so I had sex for the first time over a week ago and I just started my period and now every time I put a tampon in it hurts when I’m inserting it. Is this normal right after having sex for the first time?

It shouldn’t ever hurt you to put a tampon in if you’re doing it correctly.

No I actually started using tampons after I lost my virginity and never had a problem. Maybe you aren’t inserting it correctly. You could just be more self aware of your body now which is causing you to have trouble for insertion. But using a tampon shouldn’t hurt or be uncomfortable. However, I will say bodies change and I couldn’t use tampons after I gave birth so I had to switch to cups.

Is this normal?
