Mucous plug is usually more pink. It's usually called the bloody show. But it could be part of it? If it smells-might be an infection. If it doesn't, but you itch, might be a yeast infection. Color indicates yeast infection to me...

I described mine as my vagina sneezing with a cold. It will typically be a significant amount more than that. But you can also lose a little here and there and it will usually regenerate
