Nipples plugged at 33 weeks, is this normal?

Currently pregnant, first time mom. Nipples are getting plugged, I can remove the crust but nothing is expressed and the plugs will rebuild every few days. Not having any pain or other problems.

I don’t think you should be trying to express, as it can lead to contractions/ early labor. (At least that’s what I’ve heard) Sounds like you have a little colostrum starting to leak, which is normal. If you’re concerned, check with your OB at your next appt!

Your nips aren’t plugged. It’s colostrum. Colostrum is eeexxxtra crusty. And it’s totally normal.

I started leaking colostrum at 18 weeks pregnant. It would leak whenever and dry and crust would build up in the middle of my nipple. I’d say it’s normal. It doesn’t mean you’re clogged up or anything.

Try warm and moist compresses to loosen it and then try wiping it away
