Alcohol in breast milk?

I went to a holiday party and had 4- 5 glasses of wine over a 6 hour period. Last glass was at 10 pm. I pumped at 4 am because I woke up uncomfortable. I am worried about the alcohol level in that milk but I hate to throw away perfectly good milk! Thanks for your help!

The amount of alcohol that gets into breastmilk is minuscule. Even if you’re hammered. Don’t pump and dump.

You have to wait 2 hours for every drink you have, and it’s more like wine or beee not hard liquor. So 4-5 drink means 8-10 hours after your last drink. I would personally toss it, it’s only 5oz.

Never toss breast milk! You can always feed baby. It is such a small small amount that goes into breast milk. Doctors, peds, OB and doula all said the only problem with consuming alcohol and breastfeeding is if you’re too drunk to safely hold your baby.
