Help me

Trying to make a newborn beanie but ends up being bigger😣 I'm a newbie.. I do 5 chains and connect at the beginning, then make 12 doubles. Then next chain I do 2 doubles in each chain.. then the 3rd I do 2 doubles then one double.. then from there on just one double... idk sorry if that doesn't make sense
