How long until I can have unprotected sex?

I’ve recently started taking the pill, the brand I was prescribed with is called Sprintec (combination). I just took my 3rd pill of a new pack today & am a Sunday start. I’m unsure of whether I’m protected since I started taking the pill two days before I ended my period meaning I started the pill during my period (my period lasted 6 days). I know I’m supposed to wait 7 days until it becomes effective, but I read somewhere else that if I start the pill within 5 days of my period, I will be protected regardless of me starting the pill the day my period begins. Could it be true? I need reassurance.

Technically the combo pill should be effective if you take it during the first days of your period (I took mine on the first). My doctor told me that I'm already protected when I get off my period and the leaflet on my pills said that I'm protected right away if I take it when I start my period. I had a 4 day period and had sex without any other protection. I also took a plan b for safety measures. I have no symptoms of possible pregnancy and I think that you're relatively safe too. 
If you're still worried, wait til your expected period and take a test.

i started 1 day of my period and still waited a whole week just to be 100% sure , don’t risk it a week won’t hurt lol
