Orangetheory and pregnant

Megan

I’ve researched a bit on the topic but wanted to see if I could get more insight. Over the last year I’ve been super into Orangetheory, going about 6x a week and really pushing myself. That resulted in overworking my body and I ended up with a stress fracture in my hip in July/August. I took about 2 months off, then slowly worked it back into my schedule with less intensity for a few weeks. Then I got pregnant.

I’ve been too nauseous and exhausted to even THINK about OTF, but I have gone twice in the last week in an attempt to get a routine going again. I haven’t had a regular OB appointment yet - I just had my last appointment with my reproductive specialist today. They were pretty vague on instructions with working out and said to ‘ease back into it.’

I’m 9w3d and definitely dialed it back today, but there were times that my heart rate still got pretty high (175-180). Whenever I saw it approach that 180 mark, I walked/lessened my intensity. Now I’m freaking out because I’m reading so many things that say not to allow your heart rate to go over 140. I know my body is used to the intensity, but I’m SO scared that I did something wrong today to harm the baby. Any thoughts??
