Max is 2 months old today. This little guy came into the world early as I had Cholestatis and we wanted to make sure he was okay (38wks+5,so full term).

Unfortunately there was a scare that oxygen was cut off to him during birth and he was rushed to the NICU at Sick kids for the first 11 days of his life.

After 72hrs of Cooling therapy and 24hrs of rewarming him (heartbreaking to see him cold and only be able to hold his hand💔), we had tremendous support from our family, friends, hospital staff, church, and strangers. The MRI came back negative for any brain damage, thank goodness.

Once he came home, my MIL flew in to stay with us. A complete nightmare. The first thing she said to me was regarding my baby fat. Yes, 2 weeks postpartum and she was body shaming me. When Max cried she turned up her volume of her music. She wasn't there to help us. She was on holiday and she stayed for 3 weeks. The first 3 weeks of Max being home I felt trapped and uncomfortable in my own home.

Thankfully once she left, I could finally begin to relax and really get to know my son and sing and dance around the house with him without fear of judgement.

He's now a thriving, happy, easy going, lovely little guy who I love unconditionally and he celebrates his 2nd month tonight and I feel blessed to be his mom. I feel particularly blessed for having such a strong son who overcame such a hard entry into this world and I will do whatever I can to help him live a wonderful life❤
