How many ounces do you fill your breast milk bags for freezing?

I was told to freeze in 2oz increments so I don’t waste my milk, I’m realizing this may get expensive cause I just went through 50 bags in 4 days.

I did 4-6 oz. put it in the fridge to defrost when I needed it and divided it among multiple bottles if i needed to use less. I concur, 2 oz seems ridiculous. Maybe put less in a bottle especially if you are heating it up to avoid reheating it multiple times.

You can leave milk out for 6 hours at room temp and then fridge it for a day and then move to freezer. Keep the rotation up and you might not need to defrost as much. I began using bottles instead of bags until they’d go in the freezer to save the bags.

I don’t make enough to freeze... what am I doing wrong ? Or what do I need to do? I just make 2 ounces per session and my LO eats 3 ounces so I have to pump twice before he wakes up to eat.

I always mad some 2oz bags and some 3 oz bags, because you can make any number with 2 and 3. I’m a stay at home mom and wasn’t going to leave my child for long. If your going to work you could safely make 4 and 6oz bags because they can use them over 2 feedings if needed.

I agree with the person who said to defrost in the fridge. Bags aren't cheap! I have been freezing 6 oz which is my bags full capacity (if you overfill apparently the bags can split when frozen and you wont know until they are thawed) but will defrost in the fridge and that way I'll be able to split into 2 or 3 bottles depending on how much she eats at the time when we use it. No wasted milk, or bags!

Freeze as much as the baby eats. Freeze 2’oz at a time then 3-4 however much the baby eats

Depends on how much the baby is eating at the time. I just froze what I pumped at the time, but everyone is different
