Have you taken nifedipine to stop contractions?

Has anyone been prescribed nifedipine to stop early contractions? Did it actually work for you?
I was in the hospital yesterday evening to be monitored for contractions because I started having too many contractions & I have a short Cervix, I was prescribed this medication to hopefully help stop the contractions. 
(I’m 29 weeks with identical twins)

I was prescribed precardia which is pretty close to the same ( according to doctor) I mad it 5 more weeks. I was admitted to the hospital today, at 36 and 2! Which is 5 weeks further so I think it did a pretty good job. I was also on bedrest and pelvicrest was taken off everything when I hit 36 weeks.

I was prescribed this a couple weeks ago. It seemed to help relax my uterus but it also made me feel my twins move less. I felt more bloated than normal but it did help with contractions. I was also prescribed progesterone when I was 20 weeks and I think that has really helped. 
I would just say to make sure you lay down when you first start taking it because it can make you really dizzy. It gave me a horrible headache so i needed to lay somewhere quiet. I hope it helps you!
