My mom and I are like best friends. I don’t get along with my dad at all. We don’t speak

I moved out due to complications in my parents house and my mom & I used to crash heads like crazy but since I moved out our bond is way better.

My mom is a drunk and my best friend (if that makes sense. I can talk to her but half the time she’s drunk or drinking) but we somewhat see eye to eye but the alcohol is her main concern. She doesn’t care about my brother or his kids she only cares about me and my husband which is heart breaking.. My dad has a mind set of work was more important than his family. He’s never been there. He’ll call when he feels like it. I may have talked to him 10 times just this year. I have to call or text him first. My grandparents raised my and my brother so they are my “parents” that I talk to often.

My mother isn’t part of my life, she abandoned me when I was two or three and I tried to be part of her life as an adult and it didn’t go well. My dad was a jerk but I loved him...he just passed away last year. I never had a parental figure I was close to. My grandmother was the closest but she died when I was 13.
