How to get baby to cuddle?!

My baby does not like cuddles at all. She’s 11 months old and just wants to be independent and play. If you put her to lay on your chest like other babies do with their mamas, she will throw a fit lol and remove herself. What can I do to get her to like cuddling? I long to experience having my baby cuddle up with me, not want to go to sleep until she’s laying on me, you know and everything else babies do with their mums. My mum keeps saying that it’s because I did not breastfeed her so “she’s not used to being close to someone”... I’m like wow! I now feel like it’s my fault and I’m looking for ways to change that

Some babies just don’t like to cuddle just like some adults don’t. You can’t really force it

Just saw your edit. It has nothing to do with breastfeeding or not. My daughter is EBF and still doesn’t like to cuddle (unless she’s sick). As soon as she’s done at the breast she wants her own space.

My daughter was breast fed and formula fed... she still only cuddles when she wants it and its rare. She's 12 months old. It's normal. She's exploring and lesrning.

You don't need to make your baby like cuddling and being touched. If they don't like it then you leave it be. I refused to breastfeed. Our daughter was 100% formula fed and we promoted independence from the get-go. She's still a very cuddly, lovable child. That's just how she is. It has absolutely nothing to do with how you fed your child. It's ridiculous that she even suggested that. But if our daughter doesn't want to cuddle or hug someone, I never ever force her into it. That's highly disrespectful. If your child wants to cuddle, she'll do it. Otherwise, I'd leave it alone.

You don’t. I have a non-cuddler. Of course now that he’s 21mo, 30lbs, and I’m almost 35 weeks suddenly he wants to be picked up more than he used to, but still not a crazy cuddler. Nothing to do with breastfeeding, I combo fed (he wasn’t gaining weight after a month, guess we took care of that issue) until he weaned himself at 4mo, was too busy.🤷🏼‍♀️😢

It’s not your fault...it is probably her personality.
My first three were cuddlers and my fourth cries to be put down.
I don’t know if you can teach her to be cuddly, but you can try to savor the moments she slows down and cuddles for a second.
