Glucose at 10 weeks?

Dr is having me come in for my second prenatal appt at 10 weeks for the glucose test. I thought that was way further down the line? Anyone else have one coming up and know more?

They also can do it earlier if you have family history of diabetes. I’m am far from over weight and I just did mine at 11wks2days😊 I passed with flying colors hoping I don’t have to do it again, lol

Same here..my doctor ordered one at my 1st appt (8wks)..even though i passed on my 1st pregnancy..my son was  10 pds and 2 weeks early so i thought that may be why

My Dr said it is based on your BMI and anything over 30 puts you at a higher risk for GD...good luck on the test. Unfortunately mine is scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving so I need to be aware of my sugar consumption the day before.

According to my BMI I am technically over weight and i have to do two glucose test. One at 13 weeks and a second at 28. They ran labs at my first appointment and all my levels were great but they still insist I the test twice.

Really?! Wth 🤣 I’m 5’6 170. I didn’t think I was that overweight 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Did you have labs done yet? Maybe your glucose was high. I would ask why. If you had it before in a previous pregnancy it can show up a lot earlier the next time. I would just ask 🤷🏼‍♀️. 
I still have test strips so my doctor is fine with me checking at home occasionally and letting him know when I kicks in.

It can be done sooner if you’re considered overweight or obese but if not then idk why you’d get one so early either.
