HELP!!!
We recently had a visit from CPS (child protective services, visit #3) where we were advised that a report had been made regarding the concern for the children in the home due to extensive drinking (father) and constant fighting between the father and step-mother. During this visit my child disclosed to the CPS worker that their father commonly drinks (sometimes more than 10 beers) and then drives (at times with my child in the car). It was also disclosed that the father has hurt my child before (by grabbing them and “yanking them down three stairs”) however, after being bribed with a cell phone, my child stated they are not scared to go to their home as long as he doesn’t hurt them again. It was stated, by my child, that the father and step mother fight often.
CPS recommended that I set up a “safety plan” with my child where they can call or text when they feel in danger.... problems are
1. is my child is 6 and isn’t allowed to have a phone yet
2. If the father figures out what the use is for the device will be either broken, turned off, or not returned.
Does anyone know or have experience with a child SOS device that is discrete?!
