I am 17 and work part time at a McDonald’s. My family has always struggled financially due to the fact that there are 7 people living in the house, including my dad who has a drinking problem. I am good at saving my money and for the most part it’s bc I’m hoping to be able to move out ASAP bc of my dad and I’s rocky relationship. The other day I spent a couple hours yelling back and forth with him bc he decided to start drama w me and I lost it. since then he seems like he’s making small efforts to do better in general. And than this morning he texted me asking if him and my mom can borrow money. My mom says that they will have $50 until Friday and that they’ll pay whatever they take out back to me. But I just spent almost $900 on a new phone (I have no bills and barely touch my money) and they have done the same to my brother and he’s still waiting on money back. I feel bad bc I know my family struggles but that shouldn’t be my problem. I feel like they use me for an ATM at times bc they’re always asking me to pay for things and say they’ll pay back but never do. but I also don’t want to seem ungrateful. What should I do?
