My pediatrician okay’d starting my daughter on food at 4.5 months. She is as showing all the signs of being ready and she was overeating her milk because it wasn’t keeping her full. She eats about an ounce for breakfast and about an ounce for dinner. So far she has tried (and loved) apples, pear, peaches, mango, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. Tomorrow we are trying banana!

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the introduction of solid foods between 4-6 months. I started off my son at 4 months with baby cereal and continued on with pureed veggies at 5 months and he's as healthy as can be!

You can start stage 1 baby food if okay by pediatrician. I did, and i started the Gerber rice and oatmeal stuff too by spoon at 4 months. My pediatrician was fine with it. My Son was formula fed.
