Did anyone’s doctor say yes to this ?

I can’t take my leave until my due date, if I ask my doctor to write me a note saying he suggests I take my leave earlier will they say yes ? 
I’m perfectly healthy and fine! But I wanted to know if I just asked for a note anyway if they would say yes!

I asked my midwife this and she said I would need a medical reason prior to 38w. Even though I had my second baby at 36w. So history of preterm labor/delivery is not a reason. I was informed I do not need a medical reason at 38w. So that’s the plan for now. Hoping I’m dilated at 36w to go out a little earlier! I feel like it’s out leave we should be able to use it how we want too.

I asked my doctor and she said no :( has to be a medical diagnosis. But you could technically take leave whenever you want for work right? Or at least here you can. I live in CA so I was concerned with being out and about for work and being exposed to the smoke, wanted to ask her to write me a note to start leave early. She said no and if anything I should just ask my work to take leave early, but she can’t write a note unless it’s a medical diagnosis.

My doctor and nurse ask me every appointment if work is getting too stressful and if I need a note to work less hours or to telework. They know I have a very stressful job and that affects the pregnancy. I plan to telework at least the week before due date but I have a boss who prefers the pregnant ladies to telework once we get to a certain point.

It depends how early. Once I hit 36/37 weeks with my first my doctor asked if I wanted a note and I told her the date I wanted to start my leave. Usually fmla will protect you four weeks prior to your due date with a note.
