what does your baby wear to sleep ?

How do you guys dress your baby to sleep? I don’t want to over heat her or leave her cold. It’s 70-72 degrees in my house ( I live in New England ). I have her in a long sleeve ones and socks and swaddled? Should she have more layers ? Should I turn up my heat ? What’s a good degree? Am I over thinking this ?

Optimal temp for babies,  is actually between 68 - 70 degrees.
We keep ac on 72. Her room gets down to 70-71 during the night. Before she started to roll over, we had her in swaddles.  When she started to roll over, we had her in a footie onesie and sleep sack. After she started walking,  we layered clothes and took away sleep sack. Once she turned 15 months, she had two piece pjs and her own blanket.  At 18 months,  she got her own pillow. This is her now, at 2 years old.

They told me that because your baby can’t regulate body temperature properly they should always have one layer more than what you are wearing, if that helps. My baby has a swaddle and blanket whereas I only have a blanket

We also live in New England (Maine). We keep the house at 68 year-round and our daughter (18 months) sleeps in a long-sleeved top and pants (or footie pjs) and a Halo SleepSack. No socks or layers or anything like that. She wore the same as a newborn when we lived in Southern California.

In my experience your baby will tell you if they’re too cold. My son kicks and fidgets more when he’s uncomfortable. He sleeps in footie pjs and a sleep sack.

My babe is 10 months old and she sleeps with a long sleeve onesie and socks with a fleece footed pj. No blanket as her doctor said no blanket until 2 years old. My house is usually at 70.

Honestly it depends on the baby and age. First couple of months a onesie and swaddled is plenty for most or the little footie onesies work great. As they get older depending on if baby will stay swaddled then just see how baby likes to be. The gowns are great with socks too
